Tess Fouchi

College Choice: Savannah College of Art and Design
Major: Film and Television

Graduating with a Distinction in Drama
Mentorship Title: "Movie Musicals: Stage vs. Screen, Which Reigns Supreme?"

“Recently featured in the March 2021 edition of St. Charles Avenue Magazine as the Student Activist of the Month, Tess Fouchi remains very committed to giving back, stating, “I think it’s important to be involved in one’s community in whatever capacity you’re able. I strive to be a role model for others and encourage them to use whatever resources and passions they have to help give back, too. Tess has grown up performing in musical theater. Her parents own Rivertown Repertory Theater in Kenner so her passion and talent come naturally. She put her passion to the test with a musical benefit called “Raise Your Voice,” which she successfully directed, choreographed, and produced, raising much needed funds for local charities. When she isn’t performing, dancing or doing character entertainment for children’s parties and community events, Tess is working on the school yearbook serving as this year’s Editor-in-Chief of The Spectator. Tess attributes McGehee’s honor code and the school’s trusting community for preparing her for college and the future. She said,”the freedoms that I had at McGehee taught me how to manage my time, grow independently, and take responsibility for myself. I know wherever life takes me I’ll take the values I learned from this school with me.”
